Nature and Spirituality flow together as naturally as molten glass. My sculpture and jewelry encompass this union through interpretations of both realistic and fantastical flora and fauna.
I step into the forest and see a feather on my path. Is it a message from my spirit guides? It asks me to pause and listen, to observe the stunning colors and patterns of birds, hold it to the light and see the subtle iridescent quality. The magical essence of glass lends itself to recreate feathers, birds, all of the animal kingdom alike. I am called to pursue it with elegance and reverence.
Further down the path I walk, feeling pensive and grounded in the delicacy of the aforementioned feather when I stumble upon a mushroom. Its soft and squishy demeanor brings a smile to my face. Its stem resembles the human form, unapologetic in its shape and existence. A reminder that life can be silly, soft and sweet. The bright bold color palette of glass paired with the naturally rounded edges offer me the visual language to bring whimsy and play into the realm of decorative art.
A skip in my step, I make my way home. Away from the screens and sirens of technology, my connection to Earth and Spirit is made clear. As humans, a cycle of remembering and forgetting is only natural. My art is the portal through which our hearts and minds receive the call to remember. Tangible invocations to adorn your body and home. Like a crystal, glass has metaphysical properties which amplify intention. In creation, I fill each piece with the invitation to dance with shadow and light alike. Open your heart to the energies within and around you. Step through the portal and believe in the magic of your own existence.
