Q: What are your shipping policies?

A: on shop drop days, Jocelyn requests customers complete one checkout per household. Anyone who checks out multiple times for the same household will receive all items in one package in order to conserve packing materials. in this case, we will not refund any shipping costs as it takes extra time to search through orders to find multiples and sometimes when things are missed, Jocelyn has to unpack and repack things together.

if items are broken upon arrival, please take a photo of the box and broken item and email them to jocelyn. everything is shipped using priority mail and therefore has insurance, so any documentation is greatly appreciated. If the piece was made using borosilicate glass, Jocelyn will repair it and cover additional shipping costs. if it was made using soft glass, she may decide to replace rather than repair depending on the damage.

a note on materials All of our art is shipped using majority recycled or eco-friendly packaging. We believe small efforts to protect Earth are worth the cost. We do not charge extra for profit on shipping, just enough to cover the cost of packaging materials and USPS Priority shipping fees. Paper bubble wrap is used when possible or recycled plastics when necessary (generally the larger blown items require more protection).

In regards to timing, we sell three types of items through the online shop:

1.Current Stock- you can expect a 5-10 day delivery for these items as they are already made and ready to go!

2.Made to Order- These items are made based on a specific design and will arrive between 1-2 weeks from purchase.

3.Custom Made- These items are made with designs based on conversation between you and Jocelyn. They will arrive between 2-4 weeks from confirmation depending on the intricacy of the piece. Customs aren’t always available, Jocelyn opens them up a few times a year and makes an announcement when she does.

Q: Do you do repairs?

A: Let’s be honest, glass breaks. Fragility is part of its allure, so don’t fret if your piece broke! If the item you purchased is made of borosilicate glass, there is a good chance I can repair it. If the piece is made of soft glass (i.e. anything made from the furnace or the fungi friends) then I most likely will not be able to fix it. I do not fix other artists work.

Email me an image of your broken item and we can discuss options. If breakage was due to my craftsmanship I will repair it for free. If the item was dropped or broken “naturally” there will be a small fee determined by the extent of breakage.

Q:Can i take a class with you?

A: I no longer teach classes, however I highly recommend checking out Terrapin glassblowing studio in jaffrey, NH or Fiamma glass in waltham, ma for workshops. I have worked closely with the teachers at these studios and love their programs.

Q: How long does it take you to make a piece?

A: This is one of the most common questions I receive when people are watching me create work live. My general answer is 12 years and __ minutes. Glass is very challenging to sculpt, oftentimes it is necessary for something to be made quickly because the longer you work it, the more likely it is to break. Therefore, glass artists must be precise in each movement, efficiency is key (especially with soft glass!). So although an item might only take 15 minutes to sculpt in the flame, know that it took years to be able to accomplish those moves well. Also, a practiced glass artist will make something look really effortless-like a dance routine, it took practice to get there.
